Bismarck, N.D. – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that a 28-year-old man from Bismarck was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash early Sunday, Aug. 31, at approximately 12:25 a.m.
According to authorities, the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the rider for a traffic violation after observing the motorcycle traveling without a license plate.
The motorcycle fled southbound on State Street from I-94 at high speed and struck a concrete curb separating northbound and southbound lanes.
The driver was ejected and came to rest in the northbound lanes, while the motorcycle skidded before stopping on Divide Avenue.
The rider was not wearing a helmet and was transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck with serious injuries. The Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office will investigate any potential criminal charges, while the crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
