North Dakota – Beginning the week of May 22, the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) will implement a traffic shift on Pacific Avenue, directing vehicles through the two north side lanes of the newly constructed roundabout at Chateau Road.
Under the new traffic pattern, motorists traveling on Chateau Road will turn onto Pacific Avenue via the east side of the roundabout. Pedestrian traffic will be safely rerouted onto a newly built concrete sidewalk running along the north side of the roundabout.
This change allows construction crews to focus on completing the roundabout’s south side lanes as part of the larger Medora Business Loop and City Section project. The initiative is a major infrastructure investment aimed at improving traffic flow and safety in anticipation of increased visitor numbers.
The upgrades come ahead of the grand opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, expected to bring more tourists to the area. The NDDOT has emphasized its commitment to transparency and promises to keep the public updated on progress throughout the project’s duration.
