North Dakota – Two men were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Tuesday, July 22, 2025, on County Road 21 near the intersection with 43rd Street SE, just south of Valley City.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. when a 2023 Dodge Ram traveling northbound failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and rolled.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from Spiritwood, ND, and the passenger, a 60-year-old man from Eckelson, ND, were both not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. They sustained serious injuries and were initially transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley City before being transferred to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

The driver has been charged with criminal vehicular injury, a Class C felony.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation with assistance from the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Police Department, Barnes County Ambulance, Valley City Rural Fire Department, and Kathryn Fire Department.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
