N.D. — The North Dakota Department of Health confirmed 161 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, from a limited number of reported tests, which is typical for this time of week.
1,611 tests were processed for a positivity rate of more than 10%. In the last week, one in every 495 people in North Dakota tested positive for COVID-19.
93,041 total COVID-19 cases have now been confirmed since the pandemic began.
The COVID Tracking Project reports that North Dakota ranks 47th in the country for new cases per capita over last two weeks.
On New Year’s Eve, the Department of Health updated its vaccine priority groups for Phase 1B and 1C. Currently, the state is in Phase 1A of vaccine distribution, which includes frontline healthcare workers, first responders, and long-term care residents and staff.
